MX Defense™ includes an MX record backup service which "MailBags" (holds the received email) for your company for a minimum of 48 hours, should your mail server go down or become un-reachable due to a communications issue.

When your primary MX record fails the sending mail server will attempt to send the mail to your secondary MX record. If your secondary MX record is the same as your primary MX record, no email will flow through to your mail server.
